Abstract

本文是探討孔子以前傳統中的宗教、文化、政治、經典這四方面與孔子的關係，希望經由此探討，能了解孔子如何溫故知新，如何轉化傳統，又為何能在中國古典的文化史與思想史上，成為一位繼往開來的人物，以及賦予繼往開來的具體內容是甚麼。

針對以上問題的研究，使我們得到一個重要的啟示是：在文化創新上，愈深入傳統，愈能超越傳統。

This article is a research into the relations between Confucius and his antecedent traditions, covering four aspects: religious, cultural, political, and the classics. By such inquiries, a better understanding on the following key problems can be expected: How was Confucius “Finding the New by reviewing the Old”? How did he transform the tradition? How could Confucius be a unique giant in the cultural/intellectual history of ancient China, by his role of “Inheriting the Past and creating the Future”? In addition, what were the actual contents in his doing such an “Inheriting the Past and creating the Future”?

During the research focusing on the above questions, there is an important inspiration enlightened to us: In trying to create and refresh the human culture, the deeper the traditon is digged into, the more probable the tradition can be transcended.
