Women liberation has led to a significant change in the traditionally male-dominant society. Men have gradually recognized and feared the strong female. This thesis attempts to explore this phenomenon, based on the works by several contemporary Taiwanese women authors. The analysis is divided into four major areas: 1. the creepy female; 2. temptation of female sexuality; 3. male envy of female’s child-bearing privilege; 4. female predator and her male prey.
