陳國球教授的新著《抒情傳統論與中國文學史》彙集了著者潛研多年的兩個論題的最新成果：抒情傳統論與中國文學史學。本書所探究的“抒情傳統論”是有關中國文學抒情傳統的論述，論列的幾部中國文學史著作亦重在對中國文學抒情傳統的歷史總結，這都是有關抒情的學問。 在這部新著中，陳教授還特别關注學者通過學術著作抒情的問題，學問的抒情亦成爲抒情傳統之一部分，而且其本人也深衷潛寄，以抒情之學問而獨抒己情。(撮要取自內文首段)
