About the Journal

The Asian Journal of the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (AJSoTL) began with vol. 4, no. 2 in 2014 as the successor to the Journal of the NUS Teaching Academy, vol. 1, no. 1 in 2011.

It is a peer-reviewed open-access journal published biannually and free of charge. It aims to promote research-informed teaching, explicit pedagogical reflection, and the documentation of the processes that enhance classroom activities and student learning outcomes. The journal is published by the Centre for Holistic Teaching and Learning at Hong Kong Baptist University with support from the University Library.

The Centre for Holistic Teaching and Learning (CHTL) at Hong Kong Baptist University is dedicated to fostering excellence in scholarly learning and teaching. In a pursuit of high-quality pedagogical practices and enhanced student learning experiences, CHTL drives data-informed curriculum innovation and transformation with four strategic foci: the holistic enhancement of learning and teaching, catalysing digital transformation in education, cultivating a data-driven and evidence-based culture for quality enhancement, and advocating for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL).
