The Asian Journal of the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (AJSoTL) invites educators, scholars, and practitioners to submit manuscripts for our upcoming general issue. We welcome rigorous, evidence-based contributions that explore and advance the practice of teaching and learning in post-secondary education.

About AJSoTL
The Asian Journal of the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (AJSoTL) is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal dedicated to advancing the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) from Asian and global perspectives. Published by the Centre for Holistic Teaching and Learning at Hong Kong Baptist University, AJSoTL serves as a platform for sharing pedagogical innovations, original research, and critical reflections on higher education.

Scope and Areas of Interest
The Journal invites rigorous, scholarly investigation of and evidence-based critical reflections on topics related to all aspects of teaching and learning, including:

  • Designing effective learning environments;
  • The educational affordances of technology;
  • High-quality assessment and feedback; and
  • Curriculum design and other relevant practices.

Types of Submissions
We welcome contributions from authors at all career stages and across all disciplines.

  • Research or Original Articles: Original, empirical research that engages with relevant scholarship and offers new insights into teaching and learning.
    Word Count: Up to 8,000 words (excluding abstract, tables, figures, and references).
  • Reflection Pieces or Commentaries: Evidence-based critical reflections on pedagogical practices, experiences, developments, or issues.
    Word Count: Up to 2,000 words (excluding abstract, tables, figures, and references).

Studies grounded in a particular course, programme, institution, discipline, or local context are welcome, particularly when they offer insights or perspectives that can contribute to wider conversations about teaching and learning.

  • Peer Review: All submissions undergo a rigorous double-blind peer-review process.
  • Open Access: AJSoTL is an open-access journal, supporting wide dissemination of your work.
  • Publication Fees: There are no fees for submission or publication.

Submission Procedure
Manuscripts should be submitted through the AJSoTL online submission system. As authors, you are encouraged to review the Journal’s Author Guidelines before submission to ensure your manuscript is anonymised and formatted correctly for our double-blind review process.
