本文旨在探討董啓章在回歸後如何以文字建構及思考“香港文化身份”。藉着考察董啓章小説譜系中被忽略,却又非常重要的一部作品——《V城繁勝録》,本文將會討論文字城市、真實城市、心象城市三者在小説中交織互涉的關係,繼而借用符號學來分析董啓章如何呈現九十年代的香港城市空間與文化。在闡釋《V城繁勝録》的城市空間時,本文會依循米歇爾ᆞ傅柯“異類空間”的觀點,探索被主流論調遮蔽的香港城市空間,以及遭遺忘的人生處境。最後藉着邀請讀者參與填充“香港文化身份”的内涵,董啓章達成了對主流“香港文化身份”論調的抵抗。

This article attempts to examine how Dong Qizhang used novel to construct and explore the cultural identity of Hong Kong after the handover in 1997. With reference V Cheng Fan Sheng Lu-one of Dong‘s novels which does not receive a lot of attention, this article scrutinizes the novel by semiology so as to evaluate the interwoven relationship between a city in words, a city in reality and a city in psyche. Then it proceeds to analyze how Dong revealed Hong Kong’s city space and local culture in the 90s by means of semiology. Since Hong Kong is a place which has been overwhelmingly predominant by the mainstream culture and views. The writer has adopted Michel Focault’s heterotopias theory to look into Hong Kong’s city space and the long-forgotten of the underprivileged from an alternative point of view. By inviting readers to find the missing pieces of the cultural identity of Hong Kong, Dong has successfully resisted the mainstream view about ‘cultural identity of Hong Kong’.
